The only Toyota Tacoma that works decently in the dirt straight from the factory is the top-of-the-line TRD Pro. All of the other trims' suspensions turn into a mushy mess on anything moderately rough. The good news is that you don't have to upgrade to the pricey TRD Pro to make your Tacoma work better in the dirt. We offer Fox Performance Series shocks that provide a big jump in performance over the Tacoma's factory spongy shocks. With large 2-inch diameter bodies, the Performance Series shocks hold more shock fluid for better cooling and a larger piston for more control. Fox has also tuned the rebound and compression valving specifically for Tacoma. Q: Will these shocks work on a 2wd application?

A: Yes, the shocks will work for both 2wd and 4wd applications provided the vehicle is a 6 lug application. They will not work with 5 lug 2wd models.
